MUSIC: Jonathan Edwards @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. OPERA: “Porgy & Bess” @ Glimmerglass, Cooperstown. Set in Catfish Row, George Gershwin’s classic “folk opera” deals with the attempt of Porgy, a disabled beggar, to create a home for himself and Bess, a young woman whose troubled past threatens to consume her present. 7:30pm. Through August 21.
