COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Upstate Concert Hall has bolstered its concert calendar with a big batch of new shows. The Mr. Dawn Fest takes over the Clifton Park nightspot on Saturday (June 16) with a full day of music featuring Erin Powers, Marcus Ruggiero, the Further Unsound, Non Compliants, Dead Lift, Sworn to Vengeance and Embrace the Curse. Doors open at 12noon and admission is $15. Other new shows include Fuel with Marcy Playground, Frank Palangi and One Day Waiting at 8pm on Thursday, July 13 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); Staind’s Aaron Lewis at 8pm on Friday, July 21 ($30 in advance; $35 at the door); Stone Sour at 8pm on Saturday, August 5 ($35 in advance; $38 at the door); rapper Chris Webby at 8pm on Wednesday, August 9 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); Warpaint at 8pm on Saturday, September 2 ($10.27 for the first 102 tickets then $18 in advance; $20 at the door); Saint Motel at 8pm on Saturday, November 18 ($20); and Kamelot with Delain and Battle Beast at 7pm on Wednesday, April 25 ($28.50 in advance; $30 at the door; VIP $100).
CHANGE OF VENUE: The double-bill concert by the Chick Corea Elektric Band and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones at 7:30pm on Saturday, August 5 was originally slated for the Palace Theatre, but it has been moved to The Egg’s Hart Theatre.
Saxman-singer Jay Collins (of the Gregg Allman Band) and his friends pay tribute to his late boss with a special concert celebration of the life of Gregg Allman at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Friday, July 28. Tickets are $20.
POSTPONED: The sold-out concert by hip-hopster Lil Uzi Vert – originally scheduled for the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Thursday (June 15) – has been postponed to Thursday, August 17.
New additions to the concert calendar at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen include the Mighty Nautilus with Hartley’s Encore at 9:30pm on Friday, June 23 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); the Big Mean Sound Machine at 9:30pm on Saturday, June 24 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); the Wurliday EP release party with Rechorduroys and Olivia Quillio at 9pm on Friday, June 30 ($10 in advance; $15 at the door); the Paul Green Rock Academy with Ike Willis performing the music of Frank Zappa at 8pm on Saturday, July 8 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); Beach Slang with Rechorduroys and One Red Martian at 8pm on Wednesday, August 2 ($15); In the Valley Below with Flagship at 9pm on Friday, August 18 ($15).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall announced six new concerts for its upcoming fall season, including Rosanne Cash, Bruce Hornsby, Eileen Ivers, Paco Pena, Tape Face and the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra.
The Jazz at the Maverick concert series has been announced for Woodstock’s Maverick Concerts. Tickets for the concerts are $30 (general admission) and $55 (reserved seating); students $5. The series features the Arturo O’Farrill Quintet at 8pm on Saturday, July 1; the Bill Charlap Trio at 8pm on Saturday, July 15; the Eldar Djangirov Trio at 8pm on Saturday, July 29; and “In the Spirit of Don Cherry” featuring Karl Berger & the Creative Music Studio at 8pm on Saturday, September 2.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish is bringing their Decades 2018 Tour to The Egg. Priced at $51, $58.50, $66, $78.50 & $116, tickets go on sale at 11am on Tuesday (June 20).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: As previously announced, Boz Scaggs is headed into Tanglewood on a double-bill with Michael McDonald on Friday, June 30. But now Scaggs has announced that he’ll be returning in the fall for a concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Tickets for the Music Hall concert go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 16).
Club Helsinki is hosting a new concert series curated by Hudson cultural writer Seth Rogovoy, which kicked off last weekend with the Ahn Trio. The newly announced Rogovoy Salon continues with Breath & Hammer, the eclectic duo featuring clarinetist David Krakauer and pianist Kathleen Tagg at 7pm on Sunday, July 2 ($25). Also upcoming in the series is Jen Chapin at 7pm on Sunday, August 13 ($15).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Singer-songwriter Amos Lee is scheduled to roll into The Egg for an intimate solo concert. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday.
The Calvin Theatre in Northampton welcomes the Psychedelic Furs with Tommy Stinson’s Bash & Pop at 8pm on Friday, October 13 ($35 & $45), the Mountain Goats at 8pm on November 8 ($26 & $36); and in support of the upcoming album Beast Epic, Iron & Wine with John Moreland at 8pm on Sunday, November 12 ($35 & $45).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Multiple Grammy Award-winning reggae star Ziggy Marley is headed into The Egg. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 16).
New shows on tap at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton include country singer Chely Wright at 7pm on Sunday, July 30 ($17.50 in advance; $20 at the door) and Phoenix funk-rockers Spafford at 8:30pm on Thursday, October 5 ($15);
SOLD OUT: Tonight’s (Wednesday, June 14) concert by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at The Egg’s Hart Theatre is now sold out… The Saturday concert (June 17) at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center by Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds is now officially sold out. No tickets will be available at the gate. At press time, lawn tickets were still available for their Friday concert (June 16).
CANCELLED: Originally scheduled for March and then postponed to Friday (June 16), the Caffe Lena concert by Canadian singer-songwriter Ariana Gillis has now officially been cancelled.
