COMEDY: Chris Rock @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. The Grammy and Emmy Award-winning comedian rolls into town with the Total Blackout Tour, his first stand-up tour in nine years. 8pm. $49.50, $69.50 & $125.

MUSIC: Ragini Shankar @ Union College’s Taylor Music Center, Schenectady. An expert in Hindustani music, the acclaimed Indian violinist will be accompanied by Veena Chandra on sitar and Devesh Chandra on tabla. 7:30pm. FREE. Also, she will also be giving a free workshop at 3:05pm.

PERFORMANCE: “Welcome to Night Vale” @ The Egg’s Hart Theatre, Albany. The twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale features local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff’s Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers and cultural events. With special guest Erin McKeown. 8pm. $30.

MUSIC: Arlen & Lexie Roth @ The Falcon, Marlboro. Father-and-daughter duo. 7pm. Donations encouraged.

OPEN MIC: Monday Open Mic Night @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. 7pm sign-up; 7:30pm show. $3; Free for students.

FILM: “The Maltese Falcon” @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. John Huston’s 1941 classic in which a private detective takes on a case that involves him with three eccentric criminals, a gorgeous liar and their quest for a priceless statuette. 7pm. $5. UPDATE: This screening has been postponed to Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict.

FILM: “A Star Is Born” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The 1954 version starring Judy Garland and James Mason. 12noon, 3:30 & 7pm. $5.
