THEATER: “Wicked” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The hit Broadway musical looks at what happened in the Land of Oz before Dorothy arrived. 7:30pm. $38-$153. Through Sunday, March 12.

THEATER: “Fragments” @ Skidmore College’s Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater, Saratoga Springs. Last chance! Shea Leavis directs the play by the late Pulitzer Prize winner Edward Albee. 8pm. $12; $8 students & seniors.

FILM/FUNDRAISER: “Film Hawk” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. A benefit for the Upstate Independents Filmmakers Network and Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange. The documentary chronicles the remarkable life of Bob Hawk, the legendary film and theater guru whose assistance was vital to the careers of Kevin Smith (“Clerks”), Edward Burns (“The Brothers McMullen”) and numerous others in the world of cutting edge independent cinema. Followed by a Q&A with Hawk and WNYT-TV’s Benita Zahn. 7pm. $10.

MUSIC: The Deadbeats @ the Low Beat, Albany. If it’s Wednesday, it must be the Deadbeats… 10pm.

FILM/DISCUSSION: “Curvee Girls” @ Schenectady County Community College’s Stockade Building, Room 101, Schenectady. WNYT-TV’s Elaine Houston screens her 20-minute about body-shaming. Followed by a panel discussion with Houston, Bre Richardson and Samantha Pittman. 12noon. FREE.

OPEN MIC/STORYTELLING: Storytelling Open Mic @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The monthly session returns with featured storyteller Alan McClintock. 6:30pm sign-up; 7pm stories. $5.
