MUSIC/COMEDY/MORE: First Night Saratoga featuring the Figgs, Wild Adriatic, Sirsy, Ramblin Jug Stompers, Darling Valley, the Living Roots Trio, Kevin McKrell, the Holly & Evan Band, Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra, Erin Harkes, lots more @ various locations, Saratoga Springs. More than 70 regional performing groups playing in 30 venues 6pm-12midnight. $20.
MUSIC: Scott Sharrard & Friends @ the Cock ‘n Bull, Galway. The guitarist and musical director of the Gregg Allman Band brings the blues-rockin’ musical fireworks to town. $95 with dinner; $30 show only.
FESTIVAL/MUSIC/MORE: First Night Bethlehem featuring Raisinhead, Andy the Music Man, Skip Parsons Riverboat Jazz Band, Playin’ with Fire, the Mendelssohn Club @ Four Corners, Delmar. With fireworks, ice sculpture, arts & crafts, face painting and a battle of the high school bands. 6:30pm. $15; $5 ages 12-18; FREE children under age 12.
MUSIC: Bach at New Year’s @ Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. Kenneth Cooper and the Berkshire Bach Ensemble perform “A Celebration of Brandenburgs.” 6pm. $41, $66 & $86. Also at 3pm Sunday at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
MUSIC: Simi Stone @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Bringing her “Mountain Motown” sound to wrap up the year. With Pearl Aday (yeah, Meat Loaf’s daughter), Scott Ian (yeah, the guy from Anthrax) and Lisa Green (yeah, the co-founder of the Paul Green Acadamey will be performing Genesis’ “Supper’s Ready in its entirety). 9pm. $25 standing room only.
