COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Woody Pines fires up an evening of down-home swing, gonzo folk and raise-the-rafters, boot-shakin’ jump blues at NaNola in Malta at 8:30pm on Friday (December 30).

Grammy Award-winning saxman Dick Oatts of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra teams up with his student and fellow saxman (and Nippertown native, too) Kenny McCabe for an evening of hard-blowin’ jazz at the Van Dyck in Schenectady at 7pm on Saturday, January 7. Tickets are currently available, priced at $15.

SOLD OUT: If ya snooze, ya lose… Two more concerts at The EggKris Kristofferson on Tuesday, January 24 and Barenaked Ladies on Friday, April 21 – are now officially sold out.

Club Helsinki in Hudson has added a couple of new shows to its 2017 concert calendar including Overcoats – the duo of Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell – at 9pm on Friday, January 27 and Bela’s Bartok at 9pm on Friday, February 3.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Hip-hop stars Fabolous and Jadakiss co-headline the Freddy vs. Jason Tour, which is slated to make a stop at Proctors in Schenectady. Young M.A., Dave East and Phresher are the support acts.

Fresh from the recently wrapped-up season 11 of NBC-TV’s “The Voice,” the wailin’ Sophia Urista fronts Brooklyn-based rockers the VeeVees in their Greater Nippertown debut at Parish Public House in Albany at 8pm on Wednesday, January 18.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The upcoming ’90s Grunge Revival concert at Proctors in Schenectady is a Seattle tribute band extravaganza featuring Given to Fly (Pearl Jam), Lithium (Nirvana), Unglued (Stone Temple Pilots) and My Poor Brain (Foo Fighters).

Jupiter Hall in Guilderland is hosting an all-ages Regional Music Showcase at 8pm on Friday, January 27 featuring Hasty Page, Anthony Fallacaro, the Steadfast Son and Talia Denis. Tickets are currently on sale, priced at $10.
