MUSIC: Front Country @ Caffe Lena at the Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs. Led by the aptly named singer-songwriter Melody Walker, the San Francisco-based progressive bluegrass band rolls into town in support of their new album, Sake of the Sound. 7pm. $22.

MUSIC: Darol Anger’s Holiday Show @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. For the fab fiddler’s fifth annual Keepin’-It-in-the-Fam Holiday Show, the acoustic music legend is joined by rising singer-songwriter Emy Phelps, banjo genius Tony Trischka, phenomenal bassist Ethan Jodziewicz and guitar wizard Grant Gordy. 8pm. $25.

MUSIC: The Zucchini Brothers @ The Egg, Albany. As they’ve been doing for more than a dozen years, Greater Nippertown’s fave children’s music rockers play their original holiday songs. 3pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Tisziji Muñoz & Paul Shaffer @ The Falcon, Marlboro. The spiritual Coltrane-inspired jazz guitarist re-teams with the longtime David Letterman keyboardist-bandleader. With Bob Moses on drums. 7pm. Donations encouraged.

DANCE: “The Nutcracker” @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. Choreographer Madeline Cantarella Culpo leads the Albany Berkshire Ballet in their annual holiday dance with the Sugar Plum Fairy, the heroic Nutcracker Prince and the evil Rat King. 1:30 & 4:30pm.
