FEST: Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase @ Bearsville Theater
The Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase is serious business for guitar geeks.
It’s part museum display and part art exhibit, giving fretboard fanatics a golden opportunity to not only look at and drool over instruments that are way out of their price range, but also to touch, feel and maybe even play them.
With more than 50 luthiers from all around the world showcasing their handiwork, the annual three-day event – which takes place at the Bearsville Theater and the surrounding grounds in Woodstock this weekend – also attracts some of the best guitar players around.
So for just $20 per day or $50 for the whole three-day gathering, you not only get the chance to do some guitar gawking, but you also can hear some fabulous guitarists, including Kaki King, Pierre Bensusan, Jerry Douglas, Charlie Hunter, Happy Traum, Larry Campbell, Bucky Pizzarelli, Cindy Cashdollar and Frank Vignola.
Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of who’s playing on which day:
Jeffery Pepper Rodgers
Perry Beekman & Lou Pappas
