MUSIC: Roomful of Teeth @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. The grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble led by Brad Wells returns to its summer home for a concert featuring new music by Ambrose Akinmusire, Toby Twining, Nick Zammuto, Androo O’Hearn and Rinde Eckert. 8pm. $22 & $28; $16 students.
MUSIC: Howard Fishman @ Universal Preservation Hall, Saratoga Springs. The critically-acclaimed composer, guitarist, songwriter, singer and bandleader has toured the world as a headliner for nearly two decades, fronting ensembles versed in pop, New Orleans jazz, country, bluegrass, classical, punk, gospel and experimental music, but tied to no particular genre. 7:30pm. $30.

THEATER: “The Property Known as Garland” @ Bridge Street Theatre, Catskill. The iconic Judy Garland comes to life in Billy Van Zandt’s play, directed by Flo Hayle. Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez perform genuine, contradictory, rhythmically dense, melodically driven sonic ear candy with gingerly handled instruments of disproportionate focus onto so for with which one might exclaim “That’s only two people?!” With Ahleuchatistas. 8pm. $7.
MUSIC: The Big Takeover @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. With Jamaican-born and raised NeeNee Rushie as a captivating and memorable front woman, plus a playful horn section and pulsating bass and drums, the Hudson Valley favorites boast a signature blend of upbeat, horn-inflected ska, deep, funky reggae grooves, soulful melodies, and dub dropouts that guarantee a memorable Jamaican-infused dance party. 9pm.
DANCE: Tom Gold Dance @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Greater Barrington. The internationally acclaimed ensemble returns with the local premiere of Tom Gold’s evening-length “Poetic Episodes.” 8pm. $25-$55.
