THEATER: “The Lion King” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is helmed by director Julie Taymor, who brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals. Born in Madrid and living in New York for 20 years, the artist uses digital photography and common building materials to assemble three-dimensional constructions that reconstruct interior spaces and outdoor environments and explore vision and perception. 6:30pm.
TALK: “Undoing the Past: Recuperated Document and Uncertain History” @ the Clark Art Institute, Williamstown. Clark Fellow Julie Ault presents a talk on the state of her research project, Testing the Limits: Archiving the Private Journals of Theodore J. Kaczynski. In 2011, via an online auction of Kaczynski’s personal belongings, Ault obtained his journals and correspondence chronicling his life in the Montana wilderness as the Unabomber. 5:30pm. FREE.
