MUSIC: Titus Andronicus @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Albany. With Craig Finn. New Jersey indie rock kingpins are back in Greater Nippertown in support of their sprawling album, The Most Lamentable Tragedy. With Craig Finn of the Hold Steady. 9pm. $18.

TALK: “Keeping the Beat: A Life in Journalism” @ The Sammer Dennis Room at MCLA’s Murdoch Hall, North Adams. A talk by writer, culture and arts critic, editor and producer Seth Rogovoy, who has been named the Hardman Journalist-in-Residence. 11am. FREE.

THEATER: “The Lion King” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is helmed by director Julie Taymor, who brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals. Also featuring the choreography of Garth Fagan and the music of Elton John and Tim Rice. 7:30pm. $20-$170. Through Sunday, April 17.

MUSIC: The Lustre Kings @ Lanie’s Cafe, Loudonville. Mark Gamsjager leads the swinging rockabilly combo. 6pm.

READING: Juan Felipe Herrera @ Skidmore College’s Palamountain Hall, Saratoga Springs. A poetry reading and Q&A with the U.S. Poet Laureate, the author of 30 books, including collections of poetry, prose, short stories, young adult novels and picture books for children. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Gruppo Mondo @ Rainbow Restaurant, Pittsfield. It’s an evening of jazz fusion with Peter Primamore, Tom Major, Aaron Dean, Fran Tokarz and special guests. 7:30pm. FREE.

THEATER: “The Blue Sky Boys” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. Deborah Brevoort’s play is an exhilarating romp through the creative minds of the maverick engineers who stopped at nothing to get a man to the moon and back.
