The legendary Chicago blues icon and six-time Grammy Award winning artist will bring his electrifying show to the Hart Theatre in support of his new album, Born To Play Guitar. DANCE: “Thinging: Dance and Translation and the Work of Anne Carson” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. Through the articulation of his body, choreographer/dancer Silas Riener explores the potential of dance in describing “things.” Based on word histories, personal histories, and translational acts in poet, translator and essayist Anne Carson’s “Variations on the Right to Remain Silent,” “The Autobiography of Red” and “The Gender of Sound,” Riener resists the linguistic impetus to name in the effort to describe. 7pm. $6.
FILM: “Soldiers’ Sanctuary” @ the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Averill Park. The award-winning film tells a story of combat veterans healing the scars of war. 7pm. $10; $8 under age 18; FREE veterans.
