New Concert Announced for the Palace Theatre


Country music is comin’ to the city on Friday, April 22 when the 2016 CMT Next Women of Country Tour makes a stop at downtown Albany’s Palace Theatre with Jennifer Nettles (of Sugarland) in the headlining slot for the show.

The websites of both Nettles and CMT confirm the date, although the Palace has yet to officially announce the concert. UPDATE 11/24: The Palace Theatre has finally confirmed the concert.

In addition to Nettles, the concert will feature Brandy Clark, as well as special guests Lindsay Ell and Tara Thompson.

Nettles’fans will have several opportunities to catch her on television prior to her spring tour stop in Albany. She’ll be a featured performer in the 89th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade at 9am on Thursday, November 26 on NBC-TV. For the sixth year, she’ll be hosting the annual two-hour “CMA Country Christmas” at 9pm on Thursday, December 3 on ABC-TV. And she’ll be testing her acting chops in the made-for-TV Dolly Parton movie, “Coat of Many Colors,” in the role of young Dolly’s mother. The movie airs at 9pm on Thursday, December 10 on NBC-TV.

As for the concert at the Palace Theatre, stay tuned for further details regarding ticket prices and on-sale dates…. UPDATE, 11/24: Priced at $34.75, $39.75, $49.75, $69.75 & $79.75, tickets will be available to Palace members at 10am on Wednesday, December 9. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, December 11.
