COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements
He’s the Titan of the Telecaster. He’s the King of Dieselbilly. He’s Bill Kirchen and he’s bringin’ a heapin’ helpin’ of his twang-filled roadhouse rockin’ to The Hangar in Troy at 8pm on Sunday, December 20, as part of his annual Honky-Tonk Holiday Show tour. Tickets for the fun-filled show are $20. And speaking of roots-rollicking fun, Cindy Cashdollar, Kevin Maul and the Lustre Kings are all teaming up for one giant post-Thanksgiving romp at The Hangar at 8pm on Saturday, November 28. Tickets are $15.
Meanwhile across the street, the Ale House welcomes back the UnExplainable Billy Eli & His Amazing Spooklights at 7pm on Sunday, November 15. Tickets are $10.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: British guitar hero Robin Trower and his band are returning to The Egg’s Hart Theatre in Albany. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (November 6).
The Rustic Barn Pub in Troy is upping the ante on the musical front. In addition to Local 518 bands, the upcoming calendar also includes shows by Canadian alt-country singer-songwriter Fred Eaglesmith on Saturday, November 14 ($20) and Boston’s reggae-rockers Spiritual Rez with the Cornerstone at 8pm on Saturday, December 19 ($10).
Animal and Varials will be co-headlining a massive show at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, December 20. Joining in the festivities will be Currents, Awake in Providence, Degrader, Blind Threat, Breathe the Skyline and Apastron Slither. The big bash kicks off at 4:30pm, and tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Also at UCH, Carnage storms into Clifton Park with his Papi Gordo Tour, also featuring Valentino Kahn and Kayzo, at 7pm on Wednesday, February 10. Priced at $22 in advance, tickets go on sale at 12noon on Thursday (November 5).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In support of her upcoming album, Dig in Deep, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and 10-time Grammy Award-winner Bonnie Raitt will be kicking off her spring tour at Albany’s Palace Theatre. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, November 13.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Rant Man is back! Multi-talented, Grammy Award-winning stand-up comedian Lewis Black is bringing his all-new “The Emperor’s New Clothes: The Naked Truth” tour to the Palace Theatre in Albany. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (November 6).
CANCELLED: Originally slated for Saturday (November 7), the Tommy Trash show at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has been cancelled… And the Woods concert at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock – originally scheduled for Thursday, November 19 – has also been cancelled. Refunds for both shows are available at the place of purchase.
Soulman Everett Bradley’s Holidelic returns to Club Helsinki in Hudson for their annual holiday funk extravaganza, this time for a two-night stand at 9pm on Friday & Saturday, December 11 & 12 ($25 & $30 in advance; $30 at the door). And peeking into the new year, Darlingside takes the stage at 8pm on Thursday, January 14 ($15 & $20 in advance; $18 & $25 at the door).
SOLD OUT: Country hitmaker Cole Swindell’s concert at the Upstate Music Hall in Clifton Park on Saturday, November 14 is now officially sold out. No tickets will be available at the door… And the concert by the Tedeschi Trucks Band scheduled for The Egg’s Hart Theatre at 7:30pm on Tuesday, December 8 is also now officially sold out.
Reggae greats the Mighty Diamonds grab the spotlight at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Friday, November 27. Sharing the stage will be DJ Queen Tubby and Ras Moses & Friends. Showtime is 8pm, and tickets go on sale on Monday (November 9), priced at $20 in advance; $25 at the door; $50 VIP meet-and-greet.
OPENERS: Henhouse Prowlers open for the Yonder Mountain String Band at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Wednesday, November 11… The Suitcase Junket is headlining at Caffe Lena on Friday, November 13, but if you can’t wait that long, he’ll also be opening for Jessica Lea Mayfield at Club Helsinki in Hudson the night before (8pm, Thursday, November 12)… Abbie Gardner of Red Molly opens for David Jacobs-Strain at Club Helsinki at 9pm on Friday, November 20.
