MUSIC: Paul Anka @ Proctors, Schenectady. He scored his hit “Diana” at age 15. He toured with Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. He wrote Frank Sinatra’s signature song, “My Way,” as well as the once ubiquitous “Tonight Show Theme” for Johnny Carson’s reign. MUSIC: Max Lifchitz @ UAlbany’s Performing Arts Center, Albany. The UAlbany faculty member and Grammy-nominated pianist/composer celebrates the half-century mark with the solo piano concert, “Lifchitz Plays Lifchitz: 50 Years of Piano Music.” 7pm. $8; $4 students & seniors.
MUSIC: Keith Pray’s Big Soul Ensemble @ The Van Dyck, Schenectady. Rousing 21st century big band music. 8pm. FREE. UPDATE: This concert has been cancelled. The band is slated to resume their usual first-Tuesday-of-the-month residency at 8pm on Tuesday, December 1.
