The Palace Theatre Announces Another New Concert
The Palace Theatre has just announced its second new concert of the day…
In support of her upcoming album, Dig in Deep, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and 10-time Grammy Award-winner Bonnie Raitt will be hitting the road in the spring for a tour that’s scheduled to make a stop at Albany’s Palace Theatre at 8pm on Saturday, March 12.
Her 2012 album, Slipstream, won her the Grammy for Best Americana Album, and her follow-up, Dig in Deep, is her highly anticipated 20th studio album, slated for release on February 26. Raitt’s upcoming tour will feature her longtime road band (which also backs her on the forthcoming album), including bassist James “Hutch” Hutchinson, drummer Ricky Fataar and guitarist George Marinelli, along with keyboardist Mike Finnigan, who joined the line-up for the triumphant 2012-2013 Slipstream tour.
Opening the show will be the California Honeydrops, a crackling five-piece band led by dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lech Wierzynski, who are known for their diverse gumbo of musical influences of R&B, funk, Southern soul, Delta blues, New Orleans second-line, gospel and a bit of a psychedelic groove.
Priced at $43.50, $79 & $99, tickets to Raitt’s concert will be available to Palace members on Tuesday, November 10 and will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, November 13.
