10/27/15: Today’s Top Tips: Tuesday


MUSIC/DANCE: The New York State Performing Arts Presenter Conference Showcase @ The Egg, Albany. As part of the annual conference, The Egg is hosting two nights of dance and music variety showcase performances. Tonight’s show features the New York Theatre Ballet, Dance Heginbotham, Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem, So Percussion and Orlando Marin. 7:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Skidmore Small Jazz Ensembles @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. 7pm. $5. UPDATE: This show has been postponed to Sunday (November 1).

MUSIC: New Found Glory @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. In support of their new album, Resurrection: Ascension. With co-headliners Yellowcard and opening act Tigers Jaw. 7:30pm. $27.

MUSIC: 13 Feet of Bluegrass @ Mabee Farm, Rotterdam Junction. The Howlin’ at the Moon concert series continues with an evening of high-energy bluegrass, ’70s and ’80s country-rock and blues, covering the spectrum from Flatt & Scruggs to the Allman Brothers. 7pm. $5.

OPEN MIC/COMEDY: Low Beat Comedy Open Mic Night @ the Low Beat, Albany. 7:30pm sing-up; 8pm laughs.

FILM: “Ghost Town: The Hebron Story” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. Narrated by Martin Sheen, the documentary explores the historic relationship between the growth of the Jewish settlements in Hebron and the Palestinian families who have lived and worked there for generations. 7pm. $9.

FILM: “Plant This Movie” @ the Madison Theater, Albany. Director Karney Hatch will speak before and after the screening via video-cast. 7:30pm. $8.

OPEN MIC: Open Mic with Cameron & Ryder @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. 6pm sign-up; 7pm show. FREE.
