He’s a millennial, 21, a ball of energy and contradictions still taking shape with every word he utters. READING: Ann Beattie @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. As one of America’s most celebrated practitioners of the short story form, she has received the 2000 PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in Short Fiction and the 2005 Rea Award for the Short Story in addition to having work featured in numerous prize anthologies.
