COMIN’ SOON: This Week’s New Concert Announcements
Fueled By Ramen recording group the Front Bottoms will be releasing their much anticipated new album Back On Top next month, and the band’s upcoming fall tour will be making a stop at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Saturday, October 17 with the Smith Street Band and Elvis Depressedly. Priced at $16 in advance and $20 at the door, tickets are slated to go on sale at 10am on Friday (August 7). Also new on the UCH concert calendar are Robert DeLong with French Horn Rebellion at 8pm on Saturday, October 31 ($17 in advance; $20 at the door; on sale at 10am on Friday) and country singer Dustin Lynch, who grabs the spotlight at 7pm on Sunday, December 13 (ticket prices TBA; on sale at 10am on Friday, August 21).
UPDATE: Fresh from hosting their inuagural Eastbound Throwdown fest last weekend, Eastbound Jesus has been added to the line-up for the free Pearlpalooza festival, rounding out the roster that also includes Matisyahu, the Moth & the Flame, Until the Ribbon Breaks, Turbo Fruits, Wild Adriatic and Better By Morning. Pearlpalooza takes place on Albany’s North Pearl Street from 1-8pm on Saturday, September 12.

Anna Nalick, best known for her 10-year-old hit single “Breathe (2AM),” which has sold more than three million copies to date, is slated to make a tour stop at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, November 5. Tickets are $20 and a limited number of VIP passes are also available.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Palace Theatre in Albany announced the return on jam-band heroes (and former nippertonians) moe. for another two-night stand. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday (August 10).
The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington is celebrating its tenth anniversary gala in a big way – an intimate evening with the mega-talented Audra McDonald (six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and a whole lot of other well-deserved honors) at 8pm on Sunday, October 11. Tickets are $80 & $150.
Club Helsinki in Hudson is hosting “DiVersao! A Brazilian & American Celebration of Timeless Music” featuring Cornelius Bates and Vanessa Falabella. The performance at 8pm on Friday, August 21 is a benefit for the Animalkind cat shelter in Hudson.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Conehead Buddha and the Victory Soul Orchestra are teaming up for a free concert as Monday night music returns to Washington Park’s Lake House Stage in Albany for the first time in nearly a decade.
When Oneohtrix Point Never (aka electronic musician Daniel Lopatin) was last at EMPAC at RPI in Troy, he and visual artist Nate Boyce developed and debuted a multimedia stage show for the world tour supporting his 2013 album R Plus Seven, released by Warp Records. Well, Oneohtrix Point Never is returning to EMPAC this fall for another residency to develop new work and present a concert at 8pm on Friday, October 16. Tickets are $18; $13 students & seniors.
In Albany, the Hollow Bar + Kitchen has added a number of new shows for the fall, including the McLovins at 9pm on Wednesday, September 23 ($10 in advance; $12 at the door); In the Valley Below at 9pm on Monday, October 19 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); the Blind Owl Band at 9pm on Friday, October 23 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); and the Revivalists at 9pm on Thursday, November 5 ($15).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg in Albany announced four new shows, including Loudon Wainwright III, Olate Dogs, Jane Monheit and the final “Mountain Snow & Mistletoe” performances. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Tuesday (August 11).
The Beatles tribute band Rain is headed into the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Wednesday, February 24. Priced at $35, $45 & $55, tickets go on sale on Friday (August 7).
UPDATE: Priced at $15 in advance; $18 at the door, tickets are now on sale for the previously announced Craig Finn concert at Albany’s Hollow Bar + Kitchen on Friday, October 16.
Jackie Greene’s concert at Levon Helm’s Barn in Woodstock on Saturday, September 26 sold out pretty quickly, so a second show has been added at 8pm on Friday, August 21, but this one will be an acoustic show. Tickets are available now priced at $45 & $65.
The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock welcomes Chogyi Lama, Calvin Alfaro & Friends at 7:30pm on Thursday, August 20 playing a benefit concert for the Earth Guardians ($20 suggested donation). Led by P-Funk’s Mike Clip Payne, the 420 Funk Mob Super Meltdown Tripfest takes over the Woodstock theater at 9pm on Friday, August 28 with special guests Jen Durkin and Burnell Pines. Tickets are $20. And Brooklyn’s the Antlers take the stage at 9pm on Saturday, September 5. Tickets are $18.
UPDATE: Tickets for the Nick Lowe concert at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Wednesday, October 7 are now on sale priced at $45 & $65. Josh Rouse is slated to open the show at 8pm.
OPENERS: Celebrating Jamaican Independence Day, Mighty Mystic and Queen Tubby will open for reggae greats Third World at 8pm on Thursday (August 6) at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock. Tickets are $35 & $50… Hollow Earth, Concrete and Sworn to Vengeance have been added to the bill at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, August 23, which features the previously announced Unearth and Fit for an Autopsy.
