New Concert Announced for Troy Savings Bank Music Hall
Although there’s been no official word from the folks at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Yo La Tengo’s website has announced that Hoboken’s favorite alt-rock heroes Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew are slated to kick off their fall tour at the Music Hall on Wednesday, September 23.
UPDATE at 12noon: Now it’s official – showtime is 8pm. Tickets are $27 & $34; $15 Test Drive Ticket. Tickets are on sale now for Music Hall members; tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (June 5).
The trio will be joined by former member Dave Schramm on electric guitar, marking the first occasion of this particular Yo La Tengo incarnation touring together.
The tour is in support of Yo La Tengo’s upcoming new album Stuff Like That There, which is scheduled for release on August 28 by Matador Records. The album features re-worked renditions of some of the bands older songs as well as a batch of covers, including “Friday I’m in Love” by the Cure, “Butchie’s Tune” by the Lovin’ Spoonful and “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” by the great Hank Williams.
Stay tuned for further details regarding the concert…
