Three New Concerts Announced for The Egg


The Egg in Albany has added three more new concerts to its calendar. Tickets for all three shows will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (May 22).

Here are the details for the three new upcoming concerts:

Tuesday, June 16, 7:30pm, $38
Often referred to as the most famous drummer in the world, Ginger Baker is renowned for his work with rock super-groups Cream, Blind Faith and Air Force, as well as his sessions with African music legend Fela Kuti and jazz greats such as Elvin Jones and Art Blakey. Baker will be joined by funk giant (and former James Brown bandleader) Pee Wee Ellis on saxophone, jazz bassist extraordinaire Alec Dankworth and Ghanian percussion powerhouse Abass Dodoo for an evening of improvisational music combining influences of jazz, Afrobeat and psychedelic blues rock.

Wednesday, June 24, 7:30pm, $34
Colin Hay is familiar to millions as the front man, songwriter and vocalist of pop sensation Men at Work (“Down Under,” “Overkill,” “Who Can It Be Now?”). Colin has since gone on to release 11 critically-acclaimed solo albums, including the highly successful Man at Work, and performs one of the most engaging one-man shows.

Saturday, October 3, 8pm, $59.50, $79.50 & $99.50
Melissa Etheridge takes the stage for a solo concert, performing songs from her new album, This is M.E., as well as some of her greatest hits like “Come to My Window,” “I’m the Only One” and “I Want to Come Over.” Known for her iconic voice, profound lyrics and riveting stage presence; Etheridge will share personal stories about her remarkable journey through life and the inspiration behind some of her most beloved songs.
