“THE VOICE”: Sawyer Fredericks Shines On

On Monday evening’s (May 4) episode of NBC-TV’s “The Voice,” Sawyer Fredericks made his mom (and the whole Local 518) proud with his Mothers’ Day selection, “Shine On.” Then 16-year-old Fultonville farmboy doubled up with a sweetly soulful rendition of the Al Green classic, “Take Me to the River,” despite being surrounded by a phalanx of retro o-go dancers.

Voting in the competition continues through 12noon today (Tuesday, May 5). And tune in at 8pm tonight to discover whether Fredericks advances to the next round…

AND DON’T FORGET: Sawyer Fredericks will be playing a free concert at Albany’s Palace Theatre at 8pm on Wednesday May 6). Eastbound Jesus will share the stage. Doors open at 6:30pm.
