Sawyer Fredericks to Play Free Concert at the Palace Theatre
Singer-songwriter Sawyer Fredericks – the teenage troubadour from Fultonville – has been wowing the judges and the voters on the hit NBC-TV show, “The Voice” this season, and now hometown Local 518 fans will get a chance to see him perform live… for FREE.
In conjunction with “The Voice,” the 16-year-old long-haired farmboy will play a free concert at Albany’s Palace Theatre at 8pm on Wednesday (May 6). Doors open at 6:30pm.
The Palace performance by Fredericks – the youngest of the singing competition’s six finalists – will be filmed for broadcast on an upcoming episode of “The Voice.” (Interestingly, Fredericks will compete on the show at 8pm on Monday [May 4], and the results will be revealed on Tuesday’s episode – both obviously prior to the Wednesday show at the Palace. Hmmm…)
Joining Fredericks in Wednesday’s concert will be Greenwich alt-county rockers Eastbound Jesus, who are slated to celebrate their new studio album, Hollerin’, with a CD release party at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, May 30.
Tickets for Wednesday’s performance are general admission and free, but they’re limited to two tickets per person. Tickets will be available beginning at 10am today (Friday, May 1) in person only at the Palace Theatre Box Office in Albany and WNYT-TV in Menands.
Because the Fredericks’ Palace performance is being filmed for network broadcast, concert-goers are asked not wear clothing or hats with logos or artwork on them. Each concert-goer will also be required to sign a release in order to enter the theater. In addition, ticket holders under age 18 will also need the signature of their legal parent or guardian.
