Win FREE Tickets to Walter Salas-Humara @ the Low Beat on Saturday

Singer-songwriter Walter Salas-Humara returns to the Low Beat on Saturday (April 25) in support of his latest album, Curve and Shake. He’s been a regular on Nippertown stages with his rip-snortin’ band, the Silos, since the days of QE2, and his work with that band alone is enough to make this a must-see concert. (Following the release of the Silos’ sophomore album Cuba in 1987, they were voted Best New American Band in the Rolling Stone Critics Poll.)

But along the way, Salas-Humara has also been a member of the Setters (also featuring Alejandro Escovedo and Michael Hall), Woozy (with songwriter Dave Bassett) and I’m Not Jim (a collaboration with acclaimed novelist Jonathan Lethem). And he’s released three top-grade solo albums, too.

The Canjo 10s are slated to open the show at the Low Beat 8pm on Saturday. Advance tickets are available for $10.

BUT WAIT… there’s more. We’re giving away a pair of FREE TICKETS for the concert to some lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. Deadline to enter is 12noon on Friday (April 24). The winner will be selected at random and notified on Friday afternoon. Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
