New Concert Announced for the Times Union Center
Hit-making singer-songwriter-producer Charlie Wilson was a co-founding member of the veteran funk group, the Gap Band, but his career as a solo artist since then has been even more impressive.
He’s racked up nine Grammy nominations, three NAACP Image Awards, the Soul Train Icon Award, the BMI Icon Award and the BET Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s collaborated with Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg and so many more.
Now the 62-year-old Wilson is heading into Albany’s Times Union Center on Friday, June 5 in support of his sixth solo album, Forever Charlie, released earlier this year. Opening the concert will be KEM and Joe.
