Zammuto & Gotye @ MASS MoCA on Saturday [Berkshire on Stage]

From his days as a founding member of luminary art rockers the Books to his equally arresting and madcap work as a solo artist, the imagination of Nick Zammuto is boundless. He recently built a giant catapult in his Vermont backyard for the purpose of flinging computers and guitars. When he visits MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center in North Adams at 8pm Saturday (March 21) with his eponymous ensemble, Zammuto, it’s hard to know for sure what will happen – but it’s safe to say you should show up…

His performance is at the junction where winter turns to spring, and this video documents the Trebuchet designed and built by Nick Zammuto with help from Brian Miksic and John Truskowski. It celebrates nicer weather and “IO” which is from his 2014 album Anchor available here or on iTunes. It’s a great video edited by Zummuto, with camera work by him, Brian Miksic, Brian Barth, Tim Velsor, Nick Oddy, Garret Harkawik and Mikey Zammuto.

UPDATE: Joining Zammuto at MASS MoCA on Saturday will be three-time Grammy Award winner Gotye, whose 2011 hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” propelled him to international fame.
