Two New Concerts Added for the Mahaiwe
The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington has added two new concerts to its spring line-up of shows.
Tickets go on sale to members at 12noon on Wednesday (March 11) and to the general public at 12noon on Friday (March 13).
Here are the two new concerts:
Saturday, May 9, 8pm
$35, $55 & $80
Affectionately referred to by Elton John as “the greatest songwriter on the planet,” Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation. The son of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle (and the brother of Martha Wainwright), Rufus has achieved his success by carving out his own singular sound in the worlds of rock, opera, theater, dance and film.
DAN ZANES DOES “STEAMBOAT BILL JR.”
Saturday, May 23rd at 3pm
$25; $20 children under age 12
Accompanied by a percussionist, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Dan Zanes performs his original score live on stage as this 1928 classic fills the screen. The slapstick of Buster Keaton at the peak of his powers and the energy of the live music make this a perfect show for all ages.
