MUSIC: Nick Lowe’s Quality Holiday Revue @ The Egg, Albany. It’s the most eagerly awaited Christmas show of the season with hits, holiday songs and good cheer from the Jesus of Cool. Nick Lowe performs solo and backed by those merry masked merauders Los Straitjackets (led by Nippertown native Eddie Angel), who will play some twang-flavored holiday treats of their own. But it’s something of a bittersweet celebration as Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ian McLagan – who was slated to be the opening act – died on the day that the tour was launched. The annual holiday extravaganza features the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Youth Chorale with Grand Central Station, the McKrells, the Northeast Ballet and Orlando’s School of Dance. Proceeds benefit the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center. 7pm. $15 & $25. Through Sunday.
THEATER: “The Secret Garden” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved book comes to life in the Tony Award-winning musical about an orphan girl who transforms a dead and wasted garden into a paradise where hearts can grow and miracles can happen.
