The Egg Adds Three New Concerts


The Egg’s ever-expanding concert calendar is getting even larger with the announcement of three more new concerts for the 2015 spring season.

Tickets for the new shows are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (December 12).

Swyer Theatre, $28
Justin Townes Earle was named Best Emerging Artist by the Americana Music Association in 2009, and he has since risen to be one of the day’s most prolific and acclaimed singer-songwriters. He’ll be making a tour stop at The Egg in support of his upcoming album, Absent Fathers, which is slated for release on January 13. Gill Landry of the Old Crow Medicine Show will open the show.

Friday, March 27, 8pm
Swyer Theatre, $24
An evening with two of the day’s most unique voices in alternative country music. Mary Gauthier explores rarely exposed American scenes with such acclaimed songs as “I Drink,” “Drag Queens in Limousines” and “Mercy Now,” as well as music from her new recording Trouble and Love. And Allison Moorer – who first came to national attention with her song, “A Soft Place to Fall,” on the soundtrack of the film “The Horse Whisperer” – will showcase selections from her upcoming album, Down to Believing (release date: March 17), which Rolling Stone has already hailed as “brilliant and extraordinarily candid.”

Dar Williams’ career began in the New England folk scene of the mid-1990s, and she has since become one of the premier singer-songwriters in America with a unique flair to deliver her messages with a plain-spoken, heartfelt and insightful perspective.
