Win FREE Tickets to Jaimeo Brown’s Transcendence @ Sanctuary for Independent Media on Saturday
Jaimeo Brown is emerging as one of the preeminent drummers on the new creative music scene. Over the years he’s played with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Pharoah Sanders, from Carlos Santana to Bobby Hutcherson and Albany native Stefon Harris. And earlier this year, the Downbeat 62nd Annual Critics’ Poll hailed him in the categories of both rising star drummer (#10) and composer (#11).
Jaimeo Brown’s Transcendence is a musical project that is deeply rooted in the raw honesty and abundant hope of Black spirituals, fused with East Indian concepts, electronic textures, acoustic jazz and blues.
In addition to drummer-composer Brown, the band also features saxman Jaleel Shaw and guitarist Chris Sholar.
The band takes the stage at the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy for an evening of adventurous and uplifting music at 7pm on Saturday (December 6). Admission is $15.
