MUSIC: Postmodern Jukebox @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Proving that everything new can be old again, pianist Scott Bradlee and his band have become viral pop sensations, racking up millions of YouTube views, by creating a series of clips that re-work 21st century pop hits in a variety of vintage styles. 8pm. $29.
MUSIC: “A Hard Day’s Night at the Van Dyck” @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. No, it’s not a screening of the Beatles’ debut movie. The sinful, silly, sinister Halloween tradition continues as Charmboy, Kate McDonnell, the Bluebilles, the Mark Emanation Trio, Michael Jerling and Carl Daniels sing about dead lovers, departed drifters and defunct sailors. EVENT: Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase @ Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. An annual event for the community of acoustic stringed-instrument builders, players, collectors and aficionados, presenting a gathering of the finest handmade acoustic guitars and stringed musical instruments from around the world. 11am-6pm. $20; $35 for 2-day pass. THEATER: “Gray Green Canals” @ Hudson Opera House, Hudson. Concrete Temple Theatre workshops their latest multimedia work, with women and water as subjects: each as a metaphor for the other, flowing, connecting, giving life. 7pm. FREE.
MUSIC: Lip Talk and Yassou Benedict @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Brooklyn-based quartet Lip Talk and San Francisco rockers Yassou Benedict both revel in ethereal female vocals that float atop a bed of dream-pop. Both groups are also originally from our region: Lip Talk was formed in Saratoga Springs and were known as Railbird; Yassou Benedict was formed in Hudson, and resident rock star Melissa Auf Der Maur contributed vocals to one of their early recorded efforts. Between the two groups, it promises to be an evening of shimmering textures and sultry sounds. 9pm. $12.
PARTICIPATORY THEATER: Nightmare on Bridge Street @ the Bridge Street Theatre, Catskill. Bridge Street Theatre is transformed into a Haunted House in an immersive theatrical experience for the whole family. Dance and snack in the Speakeasy, paint pumpkins, get your face painted and perform science experiments in the Big Room and then follow the rope through the curtain to enter the Chamber of Horrors… 7-10pm. $5.

Drama and reality combine in Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 2014 film covering a fictitious 24 hours in the life of musician and cultural icon Nick Cave, with startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process. 6pm.
