Real Good for FREE: Troy Chowderfest @ Riverfront Park, 10/12/14

Going into its eighth year, the Troy Chowderfest welcomes chowder-lovers throughout Capital Region to come out and judge who has the best chowder in Nippertown. From 12noon-4pm on the Sunday (October 12), more than 30 restaurants and chowdermakers from around town will fill Riverfront Park with all sorts of creative chowders. It’s a full day of fall food, live music and family fun.
Prizes will be awarded for best seafood, vegetarian, most original and overall favorite – judged by a panel featuring RPI executive chef Jackie Baldwin, Times Union restaurant columnist Steve Barnes and food blogger Bill Dowd.
Here’s how it works: Buy as many chowder-tasting tickets as you’d like! $1 = one ticket = 1 cup of chowder. And 15 festival-goers will be chosen at random to participate in a blind taste test to judge the People’s Choice Competition.
