Festival Fever: Goold Orchards’ Apple Festival on Saturday & Sunday

Not an imitation, but a tribute

Leaf peeping…
Apple picking…
Cider doughnuts…
Tribute bands…

Yes, nothing says autumn like a batch of tribute bands to ward away the upcoming chill in air. At least, that seems to be the thinking at Goold Orchards in Castleton-On-Hudson, where their 26th annual Apple Festival & Craft Show is being held this weekend.

Gigantic tents are set up on the orchard grounds, filled with jewelry, apparel, home décorations and culinary delights from the region’s finest artisans, crafters and Pride of New York farm producers. There will be a food court featuring Bootleggers, BBQ Bob Santorelli and others, as well as a wine tent. Other activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, a Bounce House, the Zust Puppet Show, visits to the pumpkin patch and, of course, apple picking.

The musical portion of the festival on Saturday (October 11) will feature Kiss tribute band Kisstory and Tom Jones tribute act Dave LaFame. Sunday’s music features Donna Huber’s Shania Twain tribute act, Shania Twin.

The Apple Festival & Craft Show takes place rain-or-shine at Goold Orchards in Castleton from 9am-5pm on Saturday & Sunday (October 11 & 12). Admission is 9pm; FREE for children 12 & under.
