UPDATE: More Tulip Festival Schedule Changes

Yes, yet another band has cancelled their performance at Albany’s annual Tulip Festival in Washington Park on Saturday and Sunday (May 10 & 11) – that’s the second one this week.

Alt-popsters MS MR were scheduled to be the headliners on the Main Stage on Saturday (May 10), but they have cancelled their performance due to illness.

MS MR lead singer Lizzy Plapinger said, “I wanted to personally reach out and apologize for having to cancel our performance at Tulip Festival on Saturday. We both went to college in upstate New York (EDITOR’S NOTE: Vassar College) and have an incredibly special place in our hearts for it, making this event all the more personal and important to us. I’ve been bedridden all week and can’t even walk around. We would NEVER cancel a show unless we had to and it was serious (which this is) and hope you will understand. Luckily it looks like you’ve booked a lot of other awesome bands so it should still be a great event. Hopefully we can make it up to you as soon as possible!”

Subbing for MS MR at 4:30pm on Saturday will be singer-songwriter and former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty in support of his latest album, Circles Super Bon Bon…, a collection of re-imagined Soul Coughing songs recorded with the hip-hop/house DJ Good Goose.
