MUSIC: 2Late @ Cafe NOLA, Schenectady. The singer-songwriter duo of Vickie Gayle and Michael Short celebrate 10 years of performing together, as well as the release of their new CD, 10 Years 2Late. 7pm. $15, which includes appetizers and a copy of the new album.
MUSIC: “The Sing-Off” Live @ Proctors, Schenectady. The winning a cappella group from season four of the NBC-TV singing competition show – Home Free – takes the stage, along with two of the season’s other competing groups, the Filharmonic and VoicePlay. 7:30pm. $30, $35, $55 and $70.
CELEBRATION/FUNDRAISER: Albany Symphony Grammy Celebration @ Overit Media, Albany. Join the members of the Albany Symphony and Maestro David Alan Miller as they celebrate their Grammy Award triumph. 6pm. $50, $75 & $150; $35 for ages under 35.
DISCUSSION: “Capital Region Creative Economy Summit” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. An introduction to a community-based collaborative activity designed to assess Nippertown’s creative assets and define actions to leverage related opportunities. This project will examine the creative sector, including the arts, design, textiles, crafts, architecture, communications and marketing, broadcasting, software development, publishing and printing, cultural and educational institutions, craft beer and distillery, culinary arts and more. 2pm.
MUSIC: The Security Project @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Master drummer Jerry Marotta – celebrating his fifth annual 54th birthday – teams up with former members of King Crimson and peter Gabriel’s band to play the music of Gabriel’s first three albums as well as some surprises. In addition to Marotta, the band features Trey Gunn (bass, Warr Guitar), Fuzzbee Morse (guitar, keyboards, saxophone, flute), David Jameson (keyboards), Brian Cummins (vocals) and Larry Fast (keyboards, sequencers). 8pm. $20.
