MUSIC: Celebration of Rhythm @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. Featuring the Indian mother-and-son duo of Veena & Devesh Chandra, as well as the deep reggae grooves and snaking basslines of Robanic with the Caribbean Sound. 7:30pm. $15. UPDATE: this show has been cancelled due to the storm.

ART OPENING RECEPTION: “A Fair Wage: Drawings by a Working Artist” @ the Spring Street Gallery, Saratoga Springs. A reception for the exhibit of David Greenberger’s wry drawings. 6-8pm. FREE.

COMEDY/FOOD: “Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The “Iron Chef” host and renowned television personality serves up an evening of stand-up comedy, talk-show antics, multimedia lecture, live music and food experimentation. Be prepared. Ponchos will be involved. The show will offer an interactive component in which audience members will have the opportunity to serve as Brown’s trusted assistants on stage. 8pm. $20-$125.

FILM: “Museum Hours” @ the Saratoga Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Jem Cohen’s low-budget but exquisitely shot film explores the unseen Vienna and demonstrates the power of art to both reflect and change our lives, as Canadian Anne (Mary Margaret O’Hara) travels to Vienna and strikes up a friendship with Johann (Bobby Sommer), a museum guard at the Kunsthistorisches. 7:30pm.
