Coinciding with the closing weekend of the track season, the Saratoga Acoustic Blues Society presented its sixth annual Saratoga Blues Celebration, an evening-long smorgasbord of blues by more than a dozen unplugged performers, including Michael Eck, Holly & Evan, Low ‘N Lonesome, George Fletcher, Memphis Moon and lots more.

In the unlikely concert venue setting of Stockade Oriental Rug Imports, housed in the Old Firehouse on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, the big blues bash featured solo performers, duos, trios, full bands and, of course, lots of impromptu jamming as well.

This was a fabulous event. Phil Drum and SABS should be commended for creating a great performance opportunity for us musicians and blues fans alike. Thank you Nippertown for the coverage.

The Saratoga Blues Celebration was the best part of the Final Stretch Weekend. Loved the way Michael Eck orchestrated the players during his set. Too bad this event wasn’t mentioned in the Final Stretch Weekend literature. And my thanks to Nippertown for bringing it to my attention via Facebook.
