FUNDRAISER: “We’re Still Here” @ The Egg, Albany. In recent years, The Egg has had its budget drastically slashed, but Albany’s iconic orb-shaped theater continues to consistently present some of the finest entertainment to be found anywhere in Nippertown. This fundraising benefit event celebrates The Egg’s 35th anniversary. And as the saying goes, “Use it or lose it.” 5:30pm. $35; VIP tickets also available.
MUSIC: Aquanett @ Green Island Bridge Parking Lot, Troy. Tonight’s the launch of the summer-long Rockin’ on the River concert series, kicking off with the return of the ’80s-rock tribute band. 5pm. FREE.
MUSIC: James Frederick & Friends @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. One of the regular rotating hosts of Caffe Lena’s open mic nights, Frederick celebrates the 10th anniversary of his first public performance. With special guest musicians joining him. Zachary “Sonny” Edwards opens the show. 7:30pm. $5.
PERFORMANCE: Hellzapoppin @ Chameleons, Pittsfield. An underground rock ‘n’ roll circus sideshow where some of the most deadly stunts in live entertainment are performed to the sounds of screams and rock music. This vaudeville freakshow features the bed of nails, glass walking, glass eating, contortion, acrobatic breakdancing, balloon swallowing, the Homemade Lobotomy Kit, walking on razor-sharp machetes, burlesque and the Human Dart Board. With Skeletons in the Piano and magician Johnny Mystic. 7:30pm. $15.
MUSIC: Teri Roiger @ the Falcon, Marlboro. In celebration of Juneteenth, the jazz singer pays tribute to the music of Abbey Lincoln. Her band features pianist James Weidman, bassist John Menegon, drummer Steve Williams and saxman Greg Osby. With special guest speakers. 7pm. $20 suggested donation.
FILM: “One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. One screening only of the documentary about the world-renowned spiritual teacher and Grammy nominated chant master – who was almost the lead singer in Blue Oyster Cult. 7pm. $9.50; $7.75 seniors; $6.75 children.
