MUSIC: The Howlin’ Brothers @ WAMC-FM’s The Linda, Albany. The Nashville-based Americana trio of Ian Craft (banjo, mandolin, fiddle), Jared Green (guitar, harmonica) and Ben Plasse (bass, banjo) actually got their start at Ithaca College, and now their celebrating their new album Howl. 8pm. $15.

DANCE: “[radical] signs of life” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. The premiere performance of Heidi Boisvert’s multi-media production that externalizes the mind’s non-hierarchical distribution of thought. Music is generated from the dancers‘ muscles and blood flow via biophysical sensors that capture sound waves from the performers’ bodies. As the audience interacts with the images produced, they enter into a dialogue with the dancers. 4pm. Also at 7:30pm on Saturday.
