THEATER: “The Intergalactic Nemisis, Book Two: Robot Planet Rising” @ Proctors, Schenectady. Three actors, one Foley artist, a musician and over 1000 hand-drawn graphics join forces for a “live-action graphic novel.” 7:30pm. $15, $30 & $50. READING: Darin Strauss @ College of Saint Rose’s Standish Conferences Rooms, Albany. The Guggenheim Fellowship recipient reads from his latest book, “Half a Life.” With poet Michael Meyerhofer. 7:30pm. FREE.
DANCE: Northeast Ballet Company @ Proctors, Schenectady. Artistic director Darlene Myers and her company present “Stories That Dance,” an inspiring and insightful journey in which stories authored by local children come to life through dance. 7pm. $9; ages 17 & under $7.
FILM: “World on a Wire” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. A science fiction thriller in which the boundary between reality and simulation is ceaselessly questioned, Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film follows a conspiracy at the Institute for Cybernetics and Future Science. 7:30pm. $6. More info here…
FILM: “Lore” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. A 14-year-old German girl (striking newcomer Saskia Rosendahl), must lead her four siblings on a harrowing journey across a devastated country and soon finds her world shattered as she must put her trust in the very person she was always taught to hate in order to survive. 6pm. $7; students $5.
MUSIC: Nancy Tierney & the Boys @ the Stockade Tavern, Kingston. The jazz-centric pop trio – which also features guitarist Ken McGloin and bassist Jim Curtin – celebrates the release of their new CD Anywhere I Go. 7:30pm. FREE.
MUSIC: Rusty Doves @ Crandall Public Library, Glens Falss. The Utica-based progressive roots music duo of Alyssa Stock and Jerry Dee serve up raw, spare arrangements of traditional tunes, unusual covers and soulful originals. 7pm. FREE.
