MUSIC: “It’s a Jazzy Christmas” @ the College of Saint Rose’s Massry Center, Albany. MUSIC: Tedeschi Trucks Band @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. Grammy Award-winning husband-and-wife blues-rockers Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks lead a big band featuring singers Mike Mattison and Mark Rivers, keyboardist/flutist Kofi Burbridge, dueling drummers J.J. Johnson and Tyler Greenwell, the horn-section of trumpeter Maurice Brown, tenor saxman Kebbi Williams and trombonist Saunders Sermons and – last but certainly not least – the great New Orleans bassist George Porter, Jr. 7:30pm. $39, $59 & $79.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Red Square for Red Cross: Hurricane Sandy Benefit Show @ Red Square, Albany. Featuring Alta Mira, Matt & the Bad Ideas, the Sunny Side of the Street Band, Matt Durfee and M.R. Poulopoulos. Plus 50/50 raffle and raffle baskets. Clothing and non-perishable food donations collected. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to help Hurricane Sandy victims. 7pm. $10; $7 with food or clothing donation.
PERFORMANCE: “A John Waters Christmas” @ The Egg, Albany. The legendary raconteur and filmmaker (“Pink Flamingos,” “Hairspray,” “A Dirty Shame” and the Odorama-riffic “Polyester”) celebrates the season with a performance that’s part storytelling, part stand-up comedy, part whatever. Chances are you’ll have more than just visions of sugarplums dancing in your head when this one is over… 8pm. $35 & $50.
THEATER/FUNDRAISER: “Hell and High Water (Or Lessons for When the Sky Falls)” @ Proctors, Schenectady. A reading of playwright and Berkshire-based Katrina survivor Jamuna Yvette Sirker’s play to benefit the Actors Fund to provide Hurricane Sandy relief for performing arts professionals. 7:30pm. $10 minimum suggested donation.
MUSIC: The Temptations @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. Founding member Otis Williams leads the group through such Motown classics as “My Girl,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” “Just My Imagination” and more. 7pm. $50, $65 & $80.
