MUSIC: Chick Corea & Gary Burton @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. The jazz piano great teamed up with the vibraphone virtuoso 40 years ago for the dazzling duet album, Crystal Silence, and all these years later, they’re still making marvelous, magical music together. MUSIC: Naomi Jennifer Bindman @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. For the latest edition of the Emerging Artist Breakout series Naomi Bindman performs the music of her daughter, Ellen Bindman-Hicks, a singer-songwriter who died in 2009 at the age of 17. 7pm. $5.
MUSIC: “An Evening of Modern Movement & Traditional Music” @ The Egg, Albany. Featuring the acrobatics and comedy of Galumpha, Heidy Latsky Dance, acoustic roots music duo Mike + Ruthy, acoustic blues queen Rory Block, the world music of Sonic Escape and the percolating cross-cultural percussion of the Drummers of MoHu. 8pm. MUSIC: Hamell on Trial @ Valentine’s Music Hall, Albany. Hamell’s Wednesday night October residency at Valentine’s continues as he showcases new material for his new one-man show “Eddie’s Bar,” in which he plays Eddie, your colorful, irreverent, foul-mouthed host for an evening of songs, jokes and tales from the urban underbelly. 7pm. $7.
