The Eighth Step Celebrates Its 45th Anniversary
It was 45 years ago that the Eighth Step began hosting folk music at the corner of Albany’s Washington Park in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church, eight steps down from Willett Street.
Since those early days in 1967, the Step has hosted hundreds of performances. It’s bounced around a bit, too, at a variety of Albany locations and a few years in Cohoes before finally settling in at Proctors in Schenectady.
This year, the Eighth Step kicked off its 45th anniversary season with UkeFest last month, and there’s a whole lot more great music headed our way during the rest of the 2012-2013 season, including a couple of very special evenings at the end of October.
