FUNDRAISER/MUSIC: Adirondack Folk School Spring Fundraiser @ the Adirondack Folk School, Lake Luzerne. It’s a chicken BBQ bash with music by the bluegrass quartet Out of the Bluegrass, in addition to a silent auction of new and gently used tools. 1-7pm. $15 in advance; $20 at the gate.
MUSIC: The Kooks @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. In support of their album, “Junk of the Heart,” the British pop-rockers play a headlining show before hitting the road with Foster the People. With Northern Faces (formerly Around the World and Back) and Royal Teeth. 7:30pm. $20.
FESTIVAL/MUSIC: StrangeCreek Campout @ Camp Kee-Wannee, Greenfield, Mass. It’s Day Three of the three-day fest with Strangefolk headlining tonight. The music starts at 10am. More info and full schedule here…
FILM: “Marley” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald documents one of the most towering figures in musical history – the life story of Bob Marley, the musician, the revolutionary and the legend. 5:30pm. $7; students $5.
REUNION/FUNDRAISER: “Make Me Pretty” @ Oh Bar, Albany. Hot on the heels of the J.B. Scott’s reunion bash earlier this month, another gone-but-not-forgotten Albany nightspot will be celebrated with a reunion party of former patrons – the State St. Pub. The bash will benefit In Our Own Voices. 4-9pm. $5 donation.
MUSIC: The CKS Band @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The powerhouse blues-rock-soul organ trio features drummer Randy Ciarlante (the Band), organist Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman Band) and guitarist Scott Sharrard (Gregg Allman Band). 8pm. $15.
FILM: “Payback: Debt and the Shadow side of Wealth”
@ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Jennifer Baichwal’s riveting and poetic documentary on “debt” in its various forms — societal, personal, environmental, spiritual, criminal and, of course, economic. 3:30pm. $7; students $5.
