MUSIC: Sheila Jordan & Friends @ the Eighth Step at Proctors, Schenectady. One of the last great veteran jazz singers steps into the spotlight with a crack band: bassist Cameron Brown, drummer Billy Drummond and pianist Ray Gallon. 7:30pm. $28.

MUSIC: Red Molly @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Sparkling roots-Americana-bluegrass trio featuring Laurie MacAllister (guitar, banjo, bass), Abbie Gardner (dobro, guitar) and the newest member Molly Venter (guitar). 8pm. $10, $12 & $20.

MUSIC: The Felice Brothers @ Jillian’s, Albany. In support of their latest album, “Celebration, Florida,” those wild ‘n’ woolly Felices shakes up Jillian’s… big-time. With Eastbound Jesus. 8pm. $20.

MUSIC: Chandler Travis Three-O @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. More wild ‘n’ woolly sounds from the heart and mind of Chandler Travis. With a solo acoustic set from Pete Labonne. 8pm. $20.

FILM: “The Beat Hotel” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. This new film by Alan Govenar delves deep into the legacy of the American Beats in Paris during the heady years between 1957-1963, when Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky and Gregory Corso fled the obscenity trials in the U.S. surrounding the publication of Ginsberg’s poem “Howl.” 7:45pm. $7; students $5.

MUSIC: Dennis DeYoung @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. “Babe.” “Lady.” “Come Sail Away.” “Best of Times.” And, of course, “Mr. Roboto.” The former Styx keyboardist-vocalist serves up all the old hits and more. 8pm. $29.50, $39.50, $49.50 & $59.50.

MUSIC/READINGS/DANCE: “Rhyme Over Reason” @ Savoia, Hudson. Time & Space Limited’s Youth Program production featuring DaKid Rymxx, JB, Ifetayo Cobbins, D.W. Sleep and some of Hudson’s finest talents. 7pm. $5.

MUSIC: Amy Collins & the Whomevers @ O’Briens Public House, Troy. A fun mix of Celtic blues, modern folk and some of Amy’s folk originals from her upcoming album. 7pm.

MUSIC: Scotty Mac & the Rockin’ Bonnevilles @ Pauly’s Hotel, Albany. The Scotty Mac attack is back! Is this a limited time get-together or a full-scale reunion? Only time will will tell, but if Monday night’s show at Club Helsinki is any indication, you’re not gonna want to miss this chance. With special guests Alison Jacobs and Matt Mirabile joining in the reunion festivities. 9pm.

FILM: “Wagner’s Dream” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Susan Froemke’s documentary captures the trials and tribulations as director Robert Lepage and the Metropolitan Opera take on the enormous challenge of staging opera’s most monumental work, Wagner’s Ring Cycle. 5:30pm. $10; students $4.50.

THEATER: “Glengarry Glen Ross” @ the Steamer No. 10 Theatre, Albany. The newly formed Mostly Harmless Theater Company presents David Mamet’s classic cut-throat drama with a co-ed cast. Directed by Rich Sagendorf and starring John Schmeiderer, Jeff Lurie, Katie Payne, Kelsy Nevins, Shera Dawn, Alain Ackerman and Rebecca Vavala. 8pm. $15. Also at 3 & 8pm on Saturday.

MUSIC: Skip Parsons’ Riverboat Jazz Band @ the Fountain Restaurant, Albany. It’s another weekend of early style New Orleans and Chicago jazz featuring clareinetist-vocalist Skip Parsons, pianist Rich Skrika, guitarist Bernie Mulleda, drummer Tim Coakley, cornetist Richard Downs, trombonist Woody Strobeck, banjoist Crick Diefendorf.
