MUSIC: Lost Radio Rounders’ Third Friday Charity Concert Series @ the Old Chapel at the Mckownville United Methodist Church, Albany. Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck will be joined by Kim Kilby, Cousin Clyde Davies and M.R. Poulopoulos for “Will the Circle Be Unbroken: Gospel Songs of the Original Carter Family.” 7pm. MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: IAP Jam @ Franklin’s Tower, Albany. A benefit concert for the IAP Scholarship Fund of the School of Social Welfare at UAlbany featuring the wildly eclectic line-up of the Lustre Kings, Gordon St., Kate McDonnell and Holland Hopson. 5pm. $10 includes admission, pasta dinner and dessert buffet.

TALK: Juan Gonzalez @ the Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy. The NY Daily News columnist and Democracy Now! co-host will speak. His latest book is “News for All
the People: The Epic Story of Race and the American Media,” a landmark narrative history of American media that puts race at the center of the story. 7pm. $10 suggested donation; $5 student/low income.
DANCE: “TOOL IS LOOT” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. Choreographers/dancers Wally Cardona and Jennifer Lacey come together in this duet with their identities simultaneously undone and strengthened. They ask the question: What comes after you don’t know anymore? 8pm. $18. Also 8pm on Saturday.

MUSIC: Del Rey @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. She’s back once again, serving up country blues, stride piano, classic jazz and hillbilly boogie on her resonator ukulele. 8pm. $18 in advance; $20 at the door.
FILM: “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Director David Gelbs examines the story of 85-year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world’s greatest sushi chef, who operates Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. 5:30pm. $7; students $5.
FILM: “The Fairy” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. A film by Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon and Bruno Romy that tells the tale of hotel night-shift worker Dom who meets a barefoot woman named Fiona who tells him she is a fairy, and grants him three wishes. However, before she is able to grant the third wish, she mysteriously disappears. 7:30pm. $7; students $5.
PERFORMANCE: Urban Guerrilla Theatre @ The Linda, Albany. The poetry/spoken word/performance artists’ collective presents “Skit Happens!,” an eclectic mix of skits, short films, poetry, comedy and stories as part of Albany Word Fest. 9pm. $10.
FILM: “Bed and Sofa” @ UAlbany’s Page Hall, Albany. Russian director Abram Room’s 1927 silent film with musical accompaniment explores the upheaval of social and sexual norms during the early days of Soviet Communism. 7:30pm. FREE.
