MUSIC: Stringfever @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Eclectic – and electric – string quartet with a repertoire that stretches from Ravel to Charlie Daniels. The London-based foursome – brothers Giles, Ralph and Neal Broadbent and their cousin Graham – bill themselves as “the world’s first genetically modified string quartet.” 3pm. $25, $27, $32; students and children $15.
FESTIVAL/MUSIC/DANCE: Dance Flurry Festival @ various locations, Saratoga Springs. More than 300 performers, 250 events and five venues over the course of three days. Dances, workshops, concerts, jam sessions and lots more. 7pm.
MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: The Heavenly Echoes Gospel Singers @ the United Presbyterian Church, Amsterdam. The groovy gospel group raises their voices in a benefit performance for the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series. 1:30pm. $10.
OPERA ON FILM: Met Opera HD Encore Presentation: Gotterdammerung @ Time and Space, Hudson. With its cataclysmic climax, the Met’s new Ring cycle, directed by Robert Lepage, comes to its resolution. FILM: Crazy Horse @ Time and Space, Hudson. Celebrated documentary director Frederick Wiseman spent ten weeks with his camera exploring one of the most mythic places dedicated to women: The Crazy Horse, a legendary Parisian cabaret. 7:30pm. $7 & $5.
ART ON FILM: Live HD Simulcast: Leonardo Live @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. A presentation of the once-in-a-lifetime exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan,” captured at the UK National Gallery. 12noon. $15; 12 & under $12.
