Benefit Concert for Country/Bluegrass Pioneer Smokey Greene, 9/25/11
Nippertown country music pioneer and bluegrass legend Smokey Greene has entertained generations of fans with his music over the years. But he’s hit a rough patch, and he’s undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is doing well, but the expenses are mounting.
So his friends are putting together a benefit concert for him, and it comes as no surprise that many of the area’s top country music performers have signed up to donate their time and talent to help him out.
The benefit concert is scheduled to take place at the Roaring Brook Ranch in Lake George at 1pm on Sunday. Admission is a suggested donation of $10.
Here’s the line-up of musicians who are scheduled to perform:
Cabin Fever with Brian Jiguere
Al & Kathy Bain with Gary Blodgett
City Limits with Randy Rollman
Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys
Leigh Gibson (of the Gibson Brothers)
Jonesville with Kevin Maul
Fred Lantz & Company
If you can’t make it to the show but would still like to help out, donations can be sent to: Arlin Greene, PO Box 57, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846
