MUSIC: The Terell Stafford–Dick Oates Quintet @ First Unitarian Society’s Whisperdome, Schenectady. A Place For Jazz kicks off its new season with trumpeter Stafford and saxman Oates in support of “Bridging the Gap,” on the Planet Arts label. 8pm. $15; students $7; children under 12 free.

MUSIC: The Lazy Suns @ the Albany Public Library Garage, Albany. The Garage Bands in the Garage concert series wraps up its 2011 season, as the Suns welcome new guitarist Larry Winchester (Coal Palace Kings, Sidewinders). With the Heddy Brothers. 6pm. FREE.
MUSIC: Deni Bonet @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Back by popular demand just two months after her latest appearance, the singer-songwriter-electric violinist and her band return for their CD completion party for “It’s All Good,” which won’t be released until next year, but Lena’s gets the scoop tonight. 8pm. $18. FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Irish 2000 Music & Arts Festival @ Saratoga County Fairgrounds, Ballston Spa. STORYTELLING/COMEDY: Dylan Brody @ Skidmore College’s Bernhard Theater, Saratoga Springs. The award-winning playwright, humorist, author, radio raconteur and regular contributor to The Huffington Post takes the stage at Skidmore in support of his third CD, “A Twist of the Wit.” 8pm. FREE.
