DANCE/THEATER: Kònic thtr: “Before the beep” @ EMPAC’s Studio 1 at RPI, Troy. Rosa Sánchez and Alain Baumann present excerpts of past works and share the status of their current work in progress, “Before the beep” – a dance performance piece inside an interactive and distributed installation, activated by viewers via cell phones, online and in person. 6pm. FILM/MUSIC: Guy Maddin: “Tales from the Gimli Hospital: Reframed” @ EMPAC’s Studio 2 at RPI, Troy. This work-in-progress event pairs the acclaimed Canadian filmmaker’s classic first feature film with a new live score performed by a remarkable all-female Icelandic cast including musicians formerly of the band múm as well as Amiina. 7:30pm. FREE.
FAIR: Fonda Fair @ the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, Fonda. Even a hurricane can’t knock out the Fonda Fair. Yeah, it’s a couple of days later than originally scheduled, but the fair will open today at 5pm. There will also be a trailer where you can drop off donated clothing and non-perishable food items for those in the community still in need. $10; children 6-11 $2; children under 6 free.
MUSIC: Incubus @ Saratoga Performing arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Brandon Boyd and the band roar into SPAC in support of their new album, “If Not Now, When?” With Young the Giant. 7:30pm. $39.50, $49.50; lawn $20.
FILM: “Spaceballs” @ Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Mel Brooks’ 1987 classic space adventure comedy hits the big screen for one night only to benefit the Living Walls project. 12midnight. $5 & a can of paint.

ROCK ON FILM: Red Hot Chili Peppers in Concert @ Regal Crossgates Stadium 18 at Crossgates Mall, Guilderland. RHCP debut their new album “I’m With You” in concert, plus select greatest hits, in a special cinematic event. 8pm.
MUSIC: The Yardbirds @ Stearns Square, Springfield, Mass. “Over, Under, Sideways, Down.” Co-founding members Jim McCarty (drums), Chris Dreja (rhythm guitar/bass) carry on the Yardbirds legacy with recent recruits Ben King (lead guitar), David Smale (bass) and Andy Mitchell (vocals/harmonica). FILM: “The Tree” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. The exquisite Charlotte Gainsbourg (“Antichrist,” “I’m Not There”) stars in French filmmaker Julie Bertuccelli’s mystical drama of grief and rebirth. 5:30pm. $7; students $5. Through Sunday.
